In almost any magazine or newspaper in England, you can find advertisements for adventure tours to exotic places.

거의 영국의 많은 잡지 또는 신문에서, 당신은 이색적인 장소에서의 모험여행에 대한 광고들을 찾을 수 있다.

These exciting tours can be bicycling, hiking, or even motorcycle trips across deserts, over mountains, and around live volcanoes!

이러한 흥분하게 하는(신나는) 여행들은 자전거타기, 하이킹, 또는 심지어 사막을 횡단하고, 산을 넘고 그리고 활화산 주위를 도는 모터사이클이 될 수 있을 것이다.

Many of these tours are for charity which makes them more interesting to some people.

One advertisement offers people a “Bike Ride to Hell and Back,”

a 400-kilometer bicycle tour across the lava fields of Iceland.

The advertisement says that the tour is like a ride across the face of the moon.

The organization that sets up this tour together is advertising for people who can give time and effort to raising money for a good cause.

이 모험을 설립한 단체는 좋은 명분을 위한 돈을 마련하기 위해 시간과 노력을 쓰는 사람에 대해 광고를 한다.

For their hard work, these people will also be able to take the holiday of a lifetime.

The first thing that people have to do is sign up for the tour.

사람들이 해야만 하는 첫 번째는 여행을 위한 서명을 하는 것이다.(신청하는 것)

The number of people who can go on each tour is limited, and many tours fill up fast.

각 여행에 갈 수 있는 사람들의 수는 한계가 있고 많은 여행들은 빠르게 가득 찬다.

Those who sign up then have to pay a deposit in order to hold their space on the tour.

그들(여행)에 신청한 이런 한 사람들은 여행에서 그들의 자리를 가지기 위해서 공탁금을 걸어야만 한다.

People cannot get their deposit back later if they change their mind, so they had better be sure they really want to go.

The deposit is usually between ₤150-250(US$200-375).

Next, each person must raise a minimum amount of money for the charity

Surprisingly, the majority of people who go on the adventure tours end up collecting more than the minimum money that the charity asks for.

Some people see a problem with this system of raising money for charities.

However, charities try to keep the overall cost of the tours low so that at least 60 or 70 percent of the money which is raised goes to the charity.

These tours are not for everybody. But the people who sign up for them all agree that it is a great experience.

After hiking across the Namib Desert,
